40/40 Vision
They say the older you get, the clearer your vision. On Wednesday, May 2, a group of women will present a multimedia collaboration of poetry, visual arts and dancing. Titled 40/40 Vision, the show is a collaboration between poet and visual artist Mar Startari-Stegall and performer and choreographer Kristen Kissik. The show will take place at Boone Saloon from 7-9pm.

The show is named for the two collaborators, Startari-Stegall and Kissik,
both whom are in their 40s. Mar Startari-Stegall, the alchemist, has exhibited
artwork in the Boone area for 14 years; her styles include abstract, Pacific
Northwest design and text. 40/40 Vision director Kristen Kissik has been
working with a group of women dancers, The Pleiades, since 2005.
During the performance, Startari-Stegall will paint poetry and Kissik will
perform with The Pleiades, who will dance to text and recorded music in
a structured improvisational form. Multi-talented performer Lexie Danner
will play the part of the reader during the main performance. After the
show, poetry paintings will be up for bid in a Silent Auction. The Mystic
Mountain Belly Dancers will dance to live drumming during the auction.
Tickets to the event are $5, children are admitted free. The Boone Saloon
will be smoke-free during the event.
