your house, try some stand-up comedy for a change. Local funny man Jay Alexander

7/1 The Teeth
Black Cat Burrito

Sleepy Horses
Black Cat Burrito will bring the pain on back-to-back nights with two of
the summer’s best bands. On Saturday, June 30, Athens, Ga. quartet
the Sleepy Horses will return to town with their shimmering
Daniel Lanois-meets-Marty Robbins blend of atmospheric Southwestern indie
rock. On Sunday, July 1, Philadelphia’s The Teeth
will make a long awaited return to deliver their highly intelligent and
insistently melodic garage pop. Mark your calendars boys and girls.
6/30 Woody Pines & the Lonesome Two
Boone Saloon

If you’re in the mood for some stripped down American roots music
that’s got some blues, folk, jazz, old-time and country all mixed
together for an irresistible sound, head to Boone Saloon on Saturday, June
30, for Asheville’s Woody Pines & the Lonesome Two.
Making the kind of music that even sounds good through an old, busted radio
speaker, Pines and company will make you boogie.
